Ladies Under-25 County Singles Semi-final
Emily Ferguson lost her County Semi-final 19 - 21 to Sian Gordon from Milton Regis. This was a very close fought game. At one point they were both on 15 shots when Sian got 4 shots taking her to 19. The next end Sian drew what looked like 2 shots to win the game. Emily asked for the second shot to be measured and an umpire was called and Emily's shot was declared second. Emily then fought back but lost on the 28th end when Sian drew shot.
Sian Gordon is playing with Sandy Hazel in the Commonwealth games later in the year.
The other match was won by Sophie Mcillmurray from West Beckenham.
The 2 finalists go through to the National under 25's at Lemington Spa early August. Unfortunately Sophie will not be able to play in the nationals so Emily and Paige Dennis from Milton Regis have been asked if they can go to the finals day at Deal next Saturday 17th and play against each other, the winner will then go to the national finals.(Match Report courtesy of Ian Ferguson)Posted: 11 July 2010
